NEW MSc PROGRAM IN AQUATIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, Denmark
The new MSc program offers a unique combination of biology, mathematics and technology and addresses global challenges in climate, environment and food resources. The program starts in September 2009 and is being developed collaboratively by the Technical University of Denmark and University of Copenhagen.

POSTDOCTORAL SCIENTIST - DINOFLAGELLATE PHYSIOLOGY
A postdoctoral position is available immediately as part of a NOAA ECOHAB-funded project to characterize cell death processes in the toxic dinoflagellate Alexandrium tamarense. The initial appointment is for one year and can be extended up to three years dependent on funding and performance. The project involves genetic and biochemical analyses of cultured dinoflagellates, as well as some fieldwork. Basic qualifications are a Ph.D. in oceanography, biology, or a related field and a strong interest in the molecular physiology of microalgae. Desired qualifications include experience with algal culturing (especially dinoflagellates), biochemical assays, quantitative PCR, and fluorescence microscopy. The position is located at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, TX (http://www.utmsi.utexas.edu)
