PHYTOPLANKTON ANALIST IN THE NETHERLANDS
The group Biological Monitoring of the international engineering company 
Grontmij|AquaSense is soliciting applications for the position of 
phytoplankton analist. This is a full-time position with fringe benefits, 
available starting april 2007. The laboratory is situated in Amsterdam.
Company: Grontmij|AquaSense is a company of about 40 ecologists which are 
part of the international engineering company Grontmij. The group 
Biological Monitoring exists of eleven specialists on taxonomy who carry 
out analyses on plankton, aquatic invertebrates, macrophytes, insects, 
small mammals, amphibians etc. Our main clients are the waterboards. 
Description: Your main duty is identifying phytoplankton on species level 
using a microscope. You have to be able to carry out microscopic work for 
about 80 % of your working day. 
Education: bachelor's degree in science, preferably in aquatic ecology
Experience: Expertise in the following areas: At least three years 
microscopic experience on taxonomy and identification of freshwater 
phytoplankton; 
Licenses and certifications:  Drivers license is usefull
Skills and abilities: Proven written and verbal communication and computer 
skills are essential, as is physical ability to work outdoors. Data 
analysis and statistical software. Ability to work on this individual as 
well as in a team.
