Dear Jean, dear colleagues
Dave Bukry is a monument of micropaleontology and stratigraphy. His memory will stay with our community and his works will continue to be inspiring for the next generations.
Rest in peace.

Objet : Re: [coccoliths] passing of Dave Bukry
Hi all,
I learned this week that Dave Bukry, a USGS-GMEG emeritus scientist and a longtime colleague to many of us, passed away. Dave initially started with the USGS in 1967 and eventually made his way to Menlo Park. Dave made important contributions to the fields of micropaleontology, marine geology, and paleoceanography, including involvement in the Deep Sea Drilling Project. John Barron passed along a nice summary of Dave's journey in geology: https://whoswhonewsletters.com/2019/03/28/john-david-bukry/.
Please feel free to pass this information to anyone.
