Dear colleagues,


We invite you to participate to the 2025 Tentmaus LAB (before Phytolab Control) Benthic Diatoms and Phytoplankton Proficiency Tests. This kind of exercises aims to contrast and evaluate the results obtained among laboratories working on ecological assessment of continental surface waters, in reference to diatoms and phytoplankton analyses.


Both, benthic diatoms and phytoplankton, are biological quality indicators considered of a big relevance on the assessment of the Ecological Status of continental surface waters by the European Water Framework Directive (WFD). So, it is crucial to estimate the accuracy and reliability of results of these analyses obtained from different specialized laboratories that use the same standardized procedures.


We offer to colleagues who are involved in freshwater ecological assessment of rivers, lakes and reservoirs to benchmark their results against other laboratories following standard procedures of ISO Quality Guides.Previous tests included analysts from more than 15 countries like Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, UK,

Latvia, Denmark, Croatia, Chile, Perú, Canada…

Estimados colegas, 


Les invitamos a participar en las pruebas de aptitud sobre diatomeas bentónicas y fitoplancton de Tentmaus LAB (antes Phytolab Control) 2025. Este tipo de ejercicios tiene como objetivo contrastar y evaluar los resultados obtenidos entre los laboratorios que trabajan en la evaluación ecológica de las aguas superficiales continentales, en referencia a los análisis de diatomeas y fitoplancton.


Tanto las diatomeas bentónicas como el fitoplancton son indicadores de calidad biológica considerados de gran relevancia en la evaluación del estado ecológico de las aguas superficiales continentales por la Directiva Marco del Agua (DMA) de la Unión Europea. Por lo tanto, es fundamental estimar la precisión y fiabilidad de los resultados de estos análisis obtenidos por diferentes laboratorios especializados que utilizan los mismos procedimientos estandarizados.


Ofrecemos a los colegas que participan en la evaluación ecológica de ríos, lagos y embalses de agua dulce la posibilidad de comparar sus resultados con los de otros laboratorios que siguen los procedimientos estándar de las Guías de Calidad ISO. En pruebas anteriores participaron analistas de más de 15 países, como España, Francia, Portugal, Alemania, Reino Unido, Letonia, Dinamarca, Croacia, Chile, Perú, Canadá...
