Benthic diatoms and phytoplankton proficiency tests

Dear colleague,

We invite you to participate to the 2022 *Phytolab Control* benthic diatoms
and phytoplankton proficiency tests. Proficiency tests aims at evaluating
results of natural aquatic samples among laboratories working on the
ecological assessment of continental surface waters. Both benthic diatoms
and phytoplankton are biological quality elements considered by the
European Water Framework Directive (WFD). It is crucial to estimate the
accuracy and reliability of results from different laboratories that use
the same procedures (e.g. taxonomic identification, calculation of indices,
determination of biovolumes) for comparisons of ecological status and hence
fulfill the WFD objectives.

We offer participants who are involved in freshwater ecological assessment
of rivers, lakes and reservoirs to benchmark their results against other
analysts. Previous tests included analysts from 12 countries (Spain,
France, UK, Croatia, Germany, Chile...) If you are interested to

Ejercicios de intercomparación diatomeas bentónicas y fitoplancton

Apreciado colega,

Te invitamos a participar en los ejercicios de intercomparación 2022 de
diatomeas bentónicas y fitoplancton de *Phytolab Control*. Estas pruebas
tienen como objetivo evaluar resultados de muestras acuáticas naturales
entre laboratorios que trabajan en estudios ecológicos de aguas
continentales. Tanto las diatomeas bentónicas como el fitoplancton son
elementos de calidad biológica considerados por la Directiva Europea Marco
del Agua (DMA). Es crucial estimar la precisión y exactitud de los
resultados de diferentes laboratorios que utilizan los mismos
procedimientos para las comparaciones del estado ecológico y, por lo tanto,
cumplir con los objetivos de la DMA.

Ofrecemos a los participantes que están involucrados en evaluaciones del
estado ecológico de ríos, lagos y embalses comparar sus resultados con los
de otros analistas. En anteriores ejercicios participaron analistas de 12
paises (España, Francia, Reino Unido, Croacia, Alemania, Chile...). Si
estás interesado en participar, completa el formulario de registro antes
