ISSHA Newsletter 1- VERY IMPORTANT


Launching of the new ISSHA website


Dear ISSHA Members, 

We are very happy to announce that the new ISSHA website has now been launched. It has been constructed with the idea of providing a modern and interactive platform to promote research, dissemination and communication on Harmful Algae issues. It is our strong belief, that an attractive website is central to the functioning and development of our organization. We have now provided the basis for this platform, now it is up to all of us to make use of it. The new ISSHA website is found on the same address as before; www.issha.org. Please note the web-browsers Firefox and Internet Explorer work best, but also the newest version of Safari. 

VERY IMPORTANT: We need you to upload your present affiliation and contact details 

Instructions:
When logging in to the new ISSHA website for the first time, you use the "Login" option in the horizontal main menu.

Enter your username, which is the email address that you have submitted previously to ISSHA.

The password to use is: qsd799azb

Please note that you should change this password in the next step.

After logging in, you will be redirected to the ISSHA home page.

However, as we have not been able to import all member data from the old website, the first thing you need to do is to complete your membership information.

You do this by clicking the button [Edit membership information].

Enter all information in the form. Please don't forget to change the password!

When you have filled in the form, click the button [Send for publishing].

You will then be redirected to the frontpage of the new ISSHA website.

Now, look in the right column. You will see a field with a red border and the heading "Membership expired". (Not for lifetime members and a few who have recently paid!)

Click the link "renew the membership" to be redirected to a page from where you can pay for a new membership period.

You will pay through Paypal, using a credit card (click "continue" next to credit card icons) or a Paypal account. 
After the payment, click a yellow button to get back to the ISSHA website again. You can also click [View printable receipt] to receive a receipt immediately or wait for one to arrive by email.
Two years from the payment date you will receive an automatic message asking you to renew your membership.

* Newsletter function to allow mail to members from the council 

I would like to end by especially thanking Stephen Bates (former ISSHA Secretary) for a huge amount of help with proof-reading, revising, and trouble-shooting the website. Also, the web-designer Nicklas Lundgren at Novitell AB, Kalmar, Sweden, has provided a lot of help and advice beyond that which we have paid for.
