[Lista-Algas] ASLO- Nice 2009: Understanding adaptation to climate change

We would like to invite you to participate in our session on the ASLO winter meeting in Nice (25-30 January 2009) entitled: Understanding adaptation to climate change of aquatic organisms in the genomic era (session 38, http://www.aslo.org/meetings/nice2009/topical_sessions.html)

In this session we welcome presentations which use ecogenomic tools for (1) identification of traits important for adaptation to projected climate changes (2) a better understanding of mechanisms of response - enhancing the ability to identify the specific molecular targets of different aspects of climate change; (3) understanding the sustainability of populations by identification of climate-sensitive species and quantification of gene flow (4) extrapolation of laboratory data by scaling up from genes to ecosystems. We aim ate bringing together aquatic ecologists, evolutionary biologists and experts in functional genomics. 

Abstracts are to be submitted according to the 3 October deadline. We are looking forward to a stimulating discussion on this increasingly important subject.
