Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre offers a wonderful 6 week class on the
biodiversity of marine algae (9th June - 18th July). The class covers the
economic and ecological importance of algae, natural history, interactions
with the marine environment, and invasive algae and their associated
impacts.
This class is a must for people interested in marine life. Credit is
equivalent to a higher biology course at UBC, SFU, UViC, and U of A. The
course is also open to non-academics with a keen interest to learn more
about the marine environment around them. Bamfield is one of Canada's
leading marine research centers and offers an unparalleled learning
environment. A course description is attached, and more information can be
found at www.bms.bc.ca.
