The course will cover basic molecular biology techniques

for obtaining specific DNA sequences and microsatellite

genotyping: DNA extraction methods. PCR, agarose gel

electrophoresis, cloning, miniprep extractions of cloned

DNA, DNA sequencing reactions and automated sequencer

demonstration, microsatellite development theory,

microsatellite amplification, genotyping in an automated

DNA sequencer, scoring and data quality assessment,

overview of general analyses.

 

Fees: 

- SEF MEMBERS: 150 Euros (meals and accommodation not

included).

- NON MEMBERS: 250 Euros (meals and accommodation not

included).

 

The course (in English) will take place at the University of Algarve,

Campus de Gambelas (Faro - Portugal).
