Algal Culture Collections 2008

You are invited to participate in this scientific meeting to be held at SAMS 
Marine Laboratory near Oban on the west coast of Scotland in June 2008.
This conference will assemble representatives of the major algal / protistan 
culture collections in the world.  Sessions will focus on:

    * the role of culture collections in the development of DNA barcodes
    * bioinformatics
    * taxonomy
    * natural products and biodiscovery
    * recent developments in algal culturing techniques (in particular, 
cryopreservation)

A one day excursion is also planned.
