Dear Colleagues, It is with great sadness that I write to tell you of the sudden death a few months ago of our colleague Roque Aguado Merlo. Roque was a field geologist and a stratigrapher, specialist of Mesozoic nannofossils. He was born in Pinos del Valle (Granada) in 1961. After a doctoral thesis on calcareous nannofossils from the Cretaceous of the Betic Cordillera in 1992, Roque became Full Professor in the Department of Geology of the University of Jaen (Campus of Linares). We keep in our memory a very kind colleague and a talented researcher. He will be greatly missed.
