Dear Denise, Dear Colleagues,

All my wishes for a happy and peaceful 2023!

The new editorial policy for JNR, after the pandemic, is a great chance for all of us. Thanks to Denise for this re-launch.

If we want to have a Science Citation Index, we have to be able to publish regularly twice a year.

I encourage you to submit your papers on taxonomy, biostratigraphy, IODP reports, and whatever else related to nannofossils, to JNR. These papers will benefit of the possibility to have high-quality plates.

I remind you that the INA members will receive the JNR volumes for free, so join INA!

Cheers,

Emanuela

Objet : [coccoliths] Journal of Nannoplankton Research - January 2023 news

Dear nannoplankton community members,
I am delighted to assume the lead editor position for the Journal of Nannoplankton Research this year! I look forward to working with all of you to resume regular publication of our journal following the slowdown experienced as part of the pandemic. I am very happy to announce that the next volume of the JNR will be mailed to INA members in March. Jackie has the volume typeset and the authors are currently reviewing proofs to make any final corrections.
Beginning this year, our goal is to publish two volumes per year in March and September, which will allow us to apply to the Science Citation Index. To meet this goal, we need you to submit manuscripts to the journal! To ensure that we can publish the next volume in September, we need manuscript submissions as soon as possible (by end of March) to ensure plenty of time for the review process. If you plan to submit a manuscript that can be considered for the September volume, please email me your title and when you expect to submit. This will help me plan the volume and prepare our associate editor team to handle the review process for the incoming manuscripts. We also need submissions for 2024 and beyond, so even if you won’t have a manuscript ready in the next 2–3 months, you can submit at any time for future volumes. Typeset manuscripts will be published on the JNR website as soon as they are ready so that you don’t have to wait for the next printed volume to come out.
Jeremy has updated the instructions to authors on the JNR website, which you can find here: http://ina.tmsoc.org/JNR/JNRinstructions.htm
Don’t forget to register as a reviewer (http://ina.tmsoc.org/JNR/reviewer_form.php)! There have been some issues with the page, so if you don’t receive a confirmation email from me that the submission was received, try again or email me directly!
We have a new email address for JNR submissions: JNR.submission at hotmail.com<mailto:JNR.submission at hotmail.com>
If you have any questions, you can email me directly at denise.kulhanek at ifg.uni-kiel.edu<mailto:denise.kulhanek at ifg.uni-kiel.edu>
Wishing you all a very happy and productive 2023!
Cheers,
Denise
