Hi Denise Good to see this discussion - I confess I mostly use paper, pencil and excel - but one snippet for you is that Dave Lazarus (Berlin) has been working on a microfossil data input system called Raritas. There is a version on github (https://github.com/plannapus/Raritas) although you would probably need to an IT geek to make any sense of it. In the context of your query I think this and related work he is doing on data-formatting for large scale databases is directly relevant and I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you all about it. all the best Jeremy On 27 Mar 2018, at 21:20, Denise Kulhanek <kulhanek at iodp.tamu.edu<mailto:kulhanek at iodp.tamu.edu>> wrote: Hi all, We are starting to explore options for replacing the IODP DESClogik application. As part of this process, we are exploring both off-the-shelf software packages, as well as developing our own in-house products for core description and paleontological data capture. I’m familiar with Stratabugs and Bugwin; are any of you using other products? We want to make sure we are as inclusive as possible during this initial exploratory phase. Thanks!
