From kulhanek at iodp.tamu.edu Thu Jan 12 17:08:22 2017 From: kulhanek at iodp.tamu.edu (Denise Kulhanek) Date: Thu, 12 Jan 2017 14:08:22 -0600 Subject: [coccoliths] Special call for nanno biostratigraphers, IODP Exp 375 Message-ID: <58778DD602000092000223D0@email.iodp.tamu.edu> Hi all - please see information below about IODP Expedition 375 and a special call for biostratigraphers (especially nanno, foram, and rad specialists). If you have questions about the expedition, please contact the staff scientist Katerina (copied on this message). You should contact your Program Member Officer if you are interested in applying. Cheers, Denise ________________________________________________________________________________________________ IODP Expedition 375 aims to understand slow slip events at the northeast Hikurangi margin of New Zealand. The expedition is scheduled to sail 8 March to 5 May 2018, from Wellington to Auckland, NZ. The chief scientists are Laura Wallace (GNS Science, NZ) and Demian Saffer (Penn State, USA). Additional information including the Scientific Prospectus are available here: http://iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/expeditions/hikurangi_subduction_margin.html We are in the process of staffing the expedition and do not have sufficient biostratigraphers in the applicant pool. We are especially interested in scientists with experience in foraminifers, nannofossils, and radiolarians. If you are interested in sailing, please contact your national IODP office (PMO), contact information of which is provided here: http://iodp.tamu.edu/participants/applytosail.html At the moment, the US Science Support Office has chosen not to open this call, so this opportunity is not available to scientists based at US institutions. However, this may change in a few weeks depending on how staffing progresses. Deadlines to respond may vary in difference countries but we have asked to receive nominations from PMOs by February 13. I'm happy to answer any questions if you are interested. Katerina Expedition 375 Project Manager petronotis at iodp.tamu.edu -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This is because we have now laso a planktonic foram website being driven but the same software and it was simplest to move both to one shared domain. There are automatic redirects operation so in principle you should hardly notice the change - but please do let me know if things go wrong. Jeremy the new addreses are: http://www.mikrotax.org/Nannotax3/ and http://www.mikrotax.org/pforams/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
