<TD colSpan=3>
<P><FONT size=2>The meeting was first held in 1970 at Cedar Creek in
Minnesota. Since that date, the gathering has been hosted at field
stations in Florida, Colorado, Manitoba, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio,
Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan. NADS usually attracts about
100-120 diatomists from North America and around the world. The meeting
provides a student friendly atmosphere, ample opportunities to network and
socialize, the ever-popular scum run, local field collecting trips, and
lively auction of diatom related valuables. NADS is an informal society,
that is, there are no formal officers or
structure.</FONT></P></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

<P>The 21st NADS will be held from 14-18 September 2011 at <A
href="http://www.umt.edu/FLBS/">Flathead Lake Biological Station</A> near
Polson, Montana. This meeting will mark the 40th anniversary of the North
American Diatom Symposium. Join international participants to present work on
all aspects of diatom investigations including climate, biodiversity, evolution,
ecology, systematics, biological assessment, and nanotechnology. This year's
meeting will focus on "Diatoms on the <A
href="http://www.visitmt.com/national_parks/crown_of_the_continent/">Crown of
the Continent</A>". A special lecture discussing the natural history of the area
will be presented by <A
href="http://www.umt.edu/urelations/mainhall/0504/graetz.htm">Dr. R. Graetz</A>,
University of Montana. Plenary speakers will include Dr. R. Crawford and <A

Hamilton</A>. In addition, our Local Expert, Dr. L Bahls, will be leading a
field trip on Sunday to explore <A href="http://www.nps.gov/glac/">Glacier
National Park</A>.</P>

J.Cramer and Harry Lubrecht in 1975. The purpose was to distribute and
publish scientific books. Over the last 27 years we have stocked many
titles of interest to the scientist and the non-scientist. Over the
years we added Olms publications to the list of publishers. Olms
publishes books in many languages and has reprinted many of
the<BR>classical volumes that were destroyed during World War Two. We
stock many of the English Volumes that deal with Shakespeare, Chaucer

have currently added entomology(insects) from our vast collection of
