their contents of polysaccharides and other components, macroalgae have a high
potential as a base for functional feeds for species cultivated in aquaculture.
Knowledge on the dynamics of these components in the algae and the variables
that controls them is still scarce however. The objectives of this thesis will
be the exploration of natural populations of macroalgae and study the seasonal
dynamics of components of interest for the production of functional feeds and
analyse the production of these components in a selected number of macroalgae
cultivated in integrated aquaculture systems (IMTAs) in relation to variables
as light, temperature and nutrient load.<o:p></o:p></span></span></font></p>
