specialising in algae/cyanobacteria analysis within the Microbiology Department
of Watercare Laboratory Services, Auckland.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><SPAN lang=EN-US
style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US">The appointed person would be involved in
correct identification of target species from freshwater samples. Currently
algal cell counts are carried out using the Utermohl sedimentation technique.
Correct identification of target species is critical when determining a
management strategy.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

qualification, preferably postgraduate, with knowledge of algae analysis, from a

</SPAN>· Appropriate laboratory experience/skills.<SPAN

microbiology and algae analysis.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>· Well-developed diagnostic and trouble shooting skills.<SPAN

managing coral reefs in an era of rapid climate change and unprecedented human
