Bragas, nº<BR>289<BR>4050-123 Porto, Portugal<BR><BR>Job description: The chosen
candidate will integrate a research group<BR>investigating the diversity and
effects of natural toxins produced by<BR>cyanobacteria and algae. The research
group includes 5 researchers, 5 PhD<BR>students, one technician and 10
undergraduate and MSc students<BR>(<A

The candidate will be in charge<BR>of the research line dealing with evaluation
of physiological effects of toxins<BR>in various organisms using molecular
methods, in special the “omics” approach<BR>(proteomics, genomics and
metabolomics). The candidate will have the<BR>opportunity to supervise PhD and
MSc students and to prepare and coordinate<BR>research
projects.<BR><BR>Qualifications and experience: Candidates must have a PhD in
Molecular Biology<BR>or Animal Physiology in relation with the study of analysis
of effects of<BR>toxicants in organisms. A 3 year post doctoral experience and a
strong<BR>motivation for group work is needed. Laboratorial experience on
proteomics,<BR>genomics and/or metabolomics is a must. Experience using real
time PCR,<BR>immunohistochemical and immunofluoresce techniques or
chromatographic methods<BR>for detection and quantification of biological
metabolites will be appreciated.<BR>Knowledge of public databases and experience
of analysis of sequences and data<BR>mining will be advantageous.<BR><BR>Further
