opportunity to
share information on all aspects of molluscan shellfish
safety from
management of environmental contamination to innovation in
laboratory
methods.

The scientific themes are complemented with
sessions on the role that
regulators and the industry themselves play in the
provision of safe
shellfish to the consumer. The practical application of
management
prediction tools for microbiological and marine biotoxin
contaminants is
expected to generate significant interest. Lively debate on
international
uniformity of shellfish safety standards will be encouraged
and a number of
roundtable discussions will be held.

Melissa
