<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Arial">Hi everyone – thanks for the feedback. We will solicit input from the broader paleontological community once we’ve evaluated available products as well as the possibility of developing our own in-house product.
Right now we really just want to make sure that we aren’t missing any software packages that are already on the market. We are doing a similar search and evaluation with core description software after management requested a market assessment before moving
forward with a DESClogik replacement project For core description we did send out a questionnaire to scientists who have sailed recently, but we have opted not to do that for paleontology at this point given the limited number of “off-the-shelf” products available.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">From my experience, for data collection, it’s a no-brainer...Bugwin. Charting in BW is fine for pdf production from AutoCAD output. More flexible and robust charting, though, may best be accomplished in Stratabugs, utilizing converted
Bugwin data.<o:p></o:p></p>
